How to specify Tax Rules with WHMCS?

Certain countries and states require you to collect taxes on your sales. WHMCS allows you to specify the tax rates on a regional basis. Let’s see how. Watch the video of this on Specify Tax Rules with WHMCS

  1. Log into WHMCS admin panel and select the Setup tab.setup-from-whmcs
  2. Hover over Payments to open the sub menu.select-payments-from-the-drop-down-menu-of-setup
  3. Select Tax Rules.select-tax-rules-from-the-drop-down-menu
  4. By default, taxes are not enabled. Check this box to enable them.click-to-enable-tax
  5. Select whether you want your prices to include the taxes (inclusive) or have them added on top of your prices (exclusive).exclusive-tax-inclusive-tax
  6. Using these fields, specify whether taxes should be applied to domains, custom invoices or late fees.
  7. Enabling Compound tax will apply the level 2 tax rates to the total after level 1 taxes have been applied instead of to the subtotal.
  8. When finished, click Save Changes.
  9. Scroll down to set tax rule to level one. Click Add New Tax Rule.add-new-tax-rule-tab
  10. Give the tax a Name.type-in-a-name-for-the-tax-rule
  11. Choose whether the rule should apply to all countries or a specific country.set-country-specific-tax-rules-in-whmcs
  12. Do the same thing for state.set-state-specific-tax-rules-in-whmcs
  13. Last, set a Tax Rate.set-tax-rate
  14. To finish, click Add Rule. You can add as many tax rules to either level as you want.click-add-rule
