How to create a POP Email Account in cPanel?

In this tutorial you will learn how to create an email account which is of  Post Office Protocol (or POP) type under your domain. Of course we will be using  cPanel as our control panel. It’s actually quite easy, so let’s get to it!

How to create a POP email account

  1. First you need to be logged into your cpanel account. If you don’t know how, refer this link :  How to login to my cPanel Control Panel?
  2. Once you are logged in scroll down to the Mail section and click on the Email Accounts icon.email-accounts-icon-on-cpanel
  3. Type in a new email addresscreating-an-email-account-in-cpanel
  4. Enter a password for the new account and re-type it to confirm it. You can change the default Mailbox Quota value (250 MB) to a value you would like to allocate on disk for this mailbox. If you are happy with 250MB of disk space, leave it as it is. password-for-email
  5. Email account creation is nearly complete. All you got to do is click on the Create Account to complete the process.cpanel-pop-email-account
  6. You’re done! The page will refresh and will display a success message if you did everything correctly. Repeat this process to create additional email accounts.email-creation-verification

How to access webmail or web-based email clients of the main account?

  1. Just as before, to access Webmail you need to be logged in to cpanel. Click on the Access Webmail link  to get to the default account’s WebMail cPanel page (it is where server messages are sent sometimes). You can choose any one of the three available webmail clients: Horde, SquirrelMail or RoundCube to check your email.access-webmail-via-cpanelwebmail-client-software
Note: How to log into Webmail directly?

To log into webmail directly and securely type : https://your-website-address:2096/ as the url. Please note that there is a possibility of this port number, “2096” being blocked by your Internet Service Provider. In such a situation use : https://your-website-address:2095/ as the url.
